Udhampur, Sept 2: Delhi Public School Udhampur celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great fervor . The aim behind these celebrations was that , Festivals build group cohesiveness. Festivals inform, educate, bring people together, break the monotony of routine and give us a chance to reenergize our body, mind and spirit. Of all festivals Ganesh Chaturthi is the most colourful. It is celebrated with much fervor and joy. The festival is celebrated by installing Lord Ganesha's idol at home, or in pandals. After worship the festival ends with the immersion of the idol in the water body. It has been observed that there is a rise in water, air and noise pollution during the celebration of festivals like Durga Puja, Ganesh Chaturthi etc. An increase in pollution level is alarming and demands corrective action. The Delhi Public School Udhampur family taking up the role of torch bearers paved the way for an eco friendly way to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The festivities commencing from the Ganpati Puja . The festivities started with the traditional arti by the Pro Vice Chairman of the School Dr. j.C Gupta accompanied by bhajans, melodiously performed by the children. Staffers and children actively participated in the arti. |
