Army pays tribute to martyr Grenadier Hemraj | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Sept 2: The Indian Army on Monday paid tributes to Late Grenadier Hemraj Jat who died on the Line of Control (LoC) in Pooch Sector on Sunday. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander, and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of the nation. Late Grenadier Hemraj Jat, who was manning a forward post in the line of duty, sustained bullet injuries during the unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Poonch sector. The soldier was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The martyr was 23 years old and had joined the Army in 2017. He belonged to village Bhadoon of Roopangarh Tehsil in Ajmer district, Rajasthan and is survived by his parents. The mortal remains of Hemraj Jat have been taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. |
