117 PHE, I&FC works taken up under Languishing Projects scheme | DDC reviews pace of progress | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Sept 2: As many as 117 PHE, Mechanical and I&FC, works are being executed under Languishing Projects scheme across Rajouri district. The information was given here at a meeting convened to review progress on these languishing projects of PHE, Mechanical and I&FC, sectors with the District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad in the chair. The meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer PHE Manish Bhatt, Executive Engineer PHE Nowshera division, Gurvachan Singh, Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers and others. The SE PHE informed that work on 29 schemes is on under languishing Project in Rajouri division at an estimated cost of Rs 35.47 crore. He gave a detailed account of all the schemes like filtration plants, laying of distribution network, Suntanks, pipe work etc in different areas of Rajouri division. Regarding Nowshera division, the Executive Engineer PHE Nowshera Gurvachan Singh said that 32 schemes are under execution in Nowshera division costing Rs 24.40 crore. It was informed that the work on all languishing projects of Rajouri and Nowshera division is likely to complete by the next financial year. The meeting was further informed that out of 13 schemes of I&FC taken up in the district work on 3 has been completed , while others are on different phases of execution. About PHE Mechanical, the concerned officer informed that out of 43 schemes, 32 have been completed and the work on the rest will start after the procurement of required machinery. The DDC asked for introduction of composite tendering of different projects to elicit better response from the contractors. He asked them to bring in notice of district administration issues, if any, impeding the execution of work. |
