Jammu, Sept 13: District administration today carried out a drive in Satwari regarding eviction of people, for widening of Airport road.
A team of officers including SDM North, SDM South, ACR Jammu, concerned Tehsildars and SHO Satwari and several other officers carried out the drive. "People whose buildings (houses/shops) come fall in the alignment of proposed widening of airport road, have been asked to vacate their respective places", said an officer, who was part of the drive.
He said that during the drive no structure has been dismantled yet. "But it is uncertain and anytime, if they don't obey evictions notice served upon them, strict actions may be taken in future", he said, adding that they (the occupants) have been provided with compensation at Sunjwan (plots and cash).
"During today's drive people have been advised to vacate the area without any further delay, however, they (people) are saying they have not been provided with sufficient compensation by the administration", the officer added. |
