Terrorists showing their true colours to create fear | Pakistan out to choke Kashmiris | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 13: Jammu & Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has warned the terrorists who were threatening the fruit growers in Kashmir not to sell their yield. The terrorists want the fruit traders to be part of the shut down which is being enforced by them in the valley. The Governor statement came a day after security forces killed a terrorist in North Kashmir's Sopore area and arrested his 8 aides, who were circulating letters and posters in the area. The killed terrorist had attacked the family of a fruit merchant in Sopore. He had opened fire on the family members of the fruit merchant injuring four of them including a three-year old girl, who was airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi for specialized treatment. According to the media reports, the terrorists have not only threatened the fruit merchant. They (terrorists) have warned the shopkeepers and the transporters of dire consequences if they dare to resume their businesses. "There are reports that terrorists are threatening civilians not to come out of their homes. They have threatened to kill civilians if they even make an attempt to resume their daily chores," said a Kashmir watcher. The spokesman of Jammu & Kashmir Government, Rohit Kansal while addressing a news conference in Srinagar on Thursday acknowledged that some elements are not allowing the shopkeepers to open their shops and the administration has taken a note of it. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Tactics adopted by the terrorists sponsored by Pakistan should serve as an eye-opener for the people of Kashmir. They should realize that how the Pakistan is trying to choke them so that it could get a chance to beat its chest and shed crocodile tears over the dead bodies of Kashmiris." He said, "The government has lifted the restrictions from almost all the areas of the Valley but life is not returning to the normal due to the threat perception and the fear of the terrorists." He said, "The year 2019 has proved that Pakistani stooges, who orchestrated protests and stone pelting had only one mission that was to keep Kashmir burning. These elements being behind the bars have helped the Jammu & Kashmir administration to maintain peace." An observer said the Jammu & Kashmir administration needs to take a call over the communication blockade in the Valley. Referring to the recent statement of the government spokesman that the provocations from across the Line of Control are a major hurdle in the restoration of mobile connectivity in Kashmir. He said, "Authorities will have to find a way out as there is no possibility about Pakistan mending its ways." |
