Bahu Fort residents celebrate 125th birthday anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: Resident of Bahu Fort, Jammu celebrated birth anniversary of last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh. The locals under the leadership of Rajeev Charak, State Vice-President of BJP and in-charge training department assembled at the spot where the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh is situated near Police Station, Bhag-e- Bahu they garlanded statue and expressed their views and showed their devotion towards their King. That on this auspicious occasion message of green clean environment was also given by State Vice President who planted one Neem Tree and one Chinnar tree near Maharaja statue. Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Charak highlighted the contribution of Maharaja for state and its people during his rule. He termed Maharaja as man of Great Charter and person with true human heart who never distinguished between the people of any religion or caste from lower or upper class. Charak said that Maharaja brought many reforms and justice to all, was his principal. He said that Maharaja was a great reformer who kept the doors of temples and schools opened for the people of lower caste. He abrogated the untouchability and constituted equal rights and honour for all. He also said Maharaja brought about several rules and regulations for the welfare and betterment of his subject in which making primary compulsory for all the subjects, men and women prohibiting child marriage and opening all places of worship for schedule caste subjects are most remarkable. |
