Enough is enough, Srinagar Markets rebels against militant diktats for Hartal!

Early Times Report
srinagar, Sept 24: Fed up of the separatist politics and militancy in Kashmir, many of the market places in summer capital Srinagar have rebelled against the militants who were forcing the traders to keep their shops shut as a mark of protest.
Sources said that the Pakistan backed terror outfits had distributed pamphlets among shopkeeper in some localities especially in Srinagar, asking them to keep their shops shut during day time or "face consequences".
Initially, after the historic decision taken by the New Delhi to scrap special status of the Jammu and Kashmir , the shops in localities like Jawahar Nagar, Raj Bagh, Sanat Nagar, Barzulla and Rawal Pora has resumed business within a week of development that took place on Aug 5.
But few days later, some suspected militants had surfaced in such areas, threatening the business community to keep their ventures shut as a mark of protest against New Delhi's decision or "face fury".
A shopkeeper pleading anonymity said some unidentified persons had threatened the business community in the name of dreaded militant outfits. "Some posters in the name of militant outfits were also circulated in some of the market places and residential localities, forcing the traders to keep their shops shut," he said.
Now, however, fed up of the diktats of the militants and separatists, the traders in locality like Jawahar Nagar, Raj Bagh and Barzalla have resumed business. "What benefits can we get from Hartal? Such politics has only devastated Kashmir economically and they (militants) need to understand it. Enough is enough, can't let our families starve to please them (militants), said a shopkeeper. He said all shops would resume normal business if adequate security is provided in market places across Kashmir.
It is pertinent to mention that just recently, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat exposed that there was no hartal in Kashmir but that the traders were doing business through one way or the other as otherwise life would have been impossible if there was a clampdown for so many day. A senior official posted in Kashmir told Early Times that the key to break the unending cycle of hartal lies with the people of valley, especially the traders and transporters, who must rise to the occasion. "If one area get back to normal, other will follows the suit otherwise the people are suffering unhurt," he said.
