IGP reviews law, order, present security scenario, crime | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 24: Mukesh Singh- Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone visited District Ramban and held a meeting which was attended by SSP Ramban and all GOs/SHOs of district Ramban. Besides, a darbar of officers/Jawanswas also held in the DPL at District Ramban. While interacting with the Officers, the IGP urged upon them to keep close surveillance over the activities of OGWs, mischief mongers, miscreants and trouble creators so that law and order is maintained at any cost. He also advised the officers to respond to the public issues promptly and adopt a public friendly approach to win the hearts and minds of the public. The IGP called for synergizing Police-Public Partnership Groups and directed the officers to conduct regular PCPG and CSC meetings with the general public in their areas of responsibility. He also stressed for ensuring strenuous police efforts towards the maintenance of communal harmony and brotherhood. The senior officers of the district were asked to personally address these meetings and educate the people on fighting the menace of terrorism, drug abuse and other social evils prevailing in the society. He also conducted Darbar of Officers/Jawans in DPL at Ramban and heard their grievances. He assured them that all the genuine concerns would be looked into on priority at PHQ/ZPHQ level. While addressing the Darbar, he advised for maintaining extra alertness in view of the present security situation. He emphasized upon close coordination with other security agencies, instant sharing of intelligence inputs in order to nip the militancy in the bud. |
