MVD Rajouri conducts roads safety awareness camp | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Sept 24: In order to inculcate traffic etiquettes and road safety habits among the students, the Motor Vehicle Department today organised an awareness camp at HEM College Thandikassi. While speaking on the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Inzar Ranam, said that the main aim of organising such camps is to sensitise the students about safe and disciplined driving. He added that over speed is a major cause of road accidents which can easily be prevented by conscious decision. He called upon the youngsters to strictly follow traffic rules and drive within prescribed speed limit. He urged upon the drivers to follow some golden rules of safe driving which included using a seat belt, not to over-speed, keeping the vehicle fit, avoid using a phone while driving and be sober on road. He also sensitized the public about their role in ensuring road safety. Awareness about registration, fitness of vehicles and procedures for obtaining a driver's license among car owners and drivers of commercial vehicles was also created. He also informed the students about the recent amendment in the Motor Vehicle Act. Later, a rally of students was organised to spread awareness among the general public regarding road safety measures. Among others present on the occasion were concerned officers from MVD, district administration, staff of HEM College and students. |
