DC Udhampur reviews functioning of Revenue Department

UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: A meeting to review the functioning and performance of Revenue department was today held here with Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla in the chair.
The meeting was attended by senior officers and field functionaries of Revenue Department.
Detailed discussions were held on various issues regarding progress of writing of jamabandies, Land acquisition cases, attestation of pending mutations, Status of writing of Girdawari, inspection of revenue records and maintenance of various registers at Patwari level.
The DC reviewed the Patwar Halqa wise progress of Jamabandi writing and asked the concerned to follow the set timeline. He exhorted upon the officers and field functionaries to work as team by maintaining close coordination for better results and effective public service delivery. He asked the Revenue officers to sensitize the public regarding Updation of Jamabandies.
The DC further directed the revenue officers to conduct regular field visits to redress the grievances of the common masses within shortest possible time and at their door step. He also directed the field functionaries to remain present in their areas to avoid inconvenience to the public. He said that strict action will be taken against those failing their duty.
Later, for the speedy process of relief cases under SDRF a computer based application 'Sakoone Awam' (relief to public) was launched by Deputy Commissioner. He informed this application will facilitate speedy process of relief cases with fixed time set for processing at each level. He further said that this App would boost the effective public service.
Among others present were Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vikar Giri, Tehsildar Udhampur, Mohit Gupta, Tehsildat Chenani, Rankaj Saraf, Tehsildar, Ramnagar Suman Srinath, Tehsildar Majalta, Saqib Saleem besides all Naib Tehsildar and field functionaries were present in the meeting.
