Jammu, Oct 4: Already facing huge shortage of funds to meet the past's liabilities of department in Jammu division, the Director Rural Development and Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Jammu reportedly spending several lakhs of rupees for their recently renovated offices for expansion and renovations, even beyond the standard of a Commissioner Secretary's Office in Secretariat.
According to sources both the offices had been renovated two years back with all modern facilities and sufficient sitting places in both offices. "For ACD's office, two more rooms being merged with existing office with a sitting capacity for more than 3 dozen peoples. Around one and a half year back the office was renovated and several Lakhs of rupees was spent, with all world class facilities", sources said, adding that on same pattern the office Director's office was renovated.
"The existing office of the ACD being extended around 20", 40" feet, for this purpose three rooms being used for clerical staff has been zeroed and five to six officials", sources said, adding that there is already an existing conference hall.
"It has been learnt that no codal formalities have been fulfilled for the work, where huge amount is being spent", they claimed, adding that the ACD Jammu who had been in lights for allegedly abusing his official position as ACD Samba, here is Jammu also acting like a monarch.
They said that however, the matter has been taken up with the higher authorities at Secretariat. "The matter has been brought into notice of concerned Advisor and the Secretary Panchyati Raj and Rural Development, who looking into the matter", they said. |
