Shah's claim ridiculed by protesters
10/4/2019 11:05:43 PM
The Union Home Minister's claim that no parts of Kashmir were under curfew restrictions and soon after his claim the authorities has place parts of Kashmir valley under night curfews Curfew restrictions were imposed in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir as the valley remained on edge with authorities stepping up security deployment. The government imposed restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPC in Srinagar district with effect from Sunday midnight as a precautionary measure, officials said. "There shall be no movement of public and all educational institutions (in Srinagar district) shall remain closed," according to an order.
It stated that there was a complete bar on holding any kind of public meeting or rally. "Identity cards of essential services officials will be treated as movement passes wherever required," the order Schools and colleges in Jammu, Kishtwar, Reasi, Doda and Udhampur districts were also ordered to remain close on Monday, the officials said. Curfew rest restrictions had been placed in these areas after the intelligence agencies and the police informed the Government that some mischief was on the cards. Additional security forces have been deployed in areas where people registered protest rallies against revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A. What is intriguing to the Government is that even Hindu majority areas in Udhamur, Jammu and Kishtwar were witnessed protest rallies against the revocation of separate status to the state within the union of India.
Back to the wall the internet services have been pushed to the wall and fresh restrictions on the use of mobile phones and landlines have been reimposed belying the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his statement he had talked of the rosy picture of the valley. But within days peace was derailed and that indicates that why 23 protest rallies were allowed to stage anti-Government demonstrations within less than 24 hours. And after three weeks the Kashmir centric political leaders have been able to motivate people to stage demonstrations. And the situation is such as to disallow security forces to disallow use of guns which may give rise to human rights violations. And That too when Pak Army have been violating ceasefire to push groups of militants into Jammu and Kashmir to raise the level of violence.
