Div Com review progress on four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Road project

Jammu, Oct 4: Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting with concerned officers to review the progress on four laning of Jammu Akhnoor Road project. Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, ACR Jammu, Vijay Sharma, Revenue Attorney, Atul Gupta, SSP Traffic Jammu, Joginder Singh, Assistant Commissioner central, Jitender Mishra besides senior functionaries of NHIDCL, SFC, Social Forestry and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The DC Jammu informed the Div Com that 90 present land has been handed over to executing agencies for execution of the project. Besides, work on package 2 and 3 is in progress and out of 162 total structures coming in the alignment 54 structures have been demolished in package 2.
The Div Com also sought details regarding the status of tree cutting and was informed that most of the trees falling in alignment of road have been cleared while remaining would be cleared at the earliest. It was further informed that all government buildings inside rotary have been vacated and demolished.
While briefing about the progress on package 3 of the project, the officers informed that, out of 430 structures, 67 have been demolished. Besides, the concerned officers informed that the administration is working on issuing awards to the pending cases.
The Div Com directed the executing agencies for preparing a weekly work plan and share the reports of progress on work on regular basis.
The Div Com directed the officers for expediting the pace of work on land acquisition cases, structure removal, tree felling for smooth execution of work on this prestigious project for its timely completion. He also directed the DC for issuing the pending awards, disbursement of compensation to the land owners whose land has been acquired.
