Raina, Koul under attack after BJP performs poorly in BDC polls
10/24/2019 10:30:33 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 24: As party suffered very bad in the Block Development Council (BDC) elections due to alleged selling of party mandates to influential and rich persons, sulking senior leaders in the BJP are likely to step up attack on incumbent leadership which has completely sidelined veteran leaders.
Credible sources said that within minutes after declaration of the results, some leaders targeted state president Ravinder Raina and organization general secretary Ashok Koul for their failure to ensure victory of party candidates in BDC elections. These leaders alleged that instead of giving mandates to dedicated party workers, some turnouts from other political parties were given importance.
After declaration of results, annoyed leaders got the opportunity to target Raina and Koul because party has performed poorly in these elections. Out of total 280 sea

s on which party had fielded its candidates BJP has manged to win only 70 seats. Party performed very poorly in home constituencies on senior leaders. Senior leaders were already alleging that party mandates were announced with taking them into confidence and only Raina and Koul had taken all important decisions.
As reported earlier, infighting in the BJP has already intensified after party leaders had expelled some leaders from the party for contesting BDCs elections as independents.
Some senior leaders had asked their supporters and loyalists to contest BDC elections as independents to teach a lesson to those who have managed party mandates despite their opposition. These senior leaders had tried their best to get mandates for most of the loyalists but those who could not manage mandates for their supporters have suggested them (supporters) to contest as 'independents.
