Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 31: Two tech savvy SHOs in Jammu city exploiting a technical privilege 'conferred' upon them by a former SSP Jammu beyond his domain. According to highly placed sources, the then SSP Jammu provided his close lieutenants a special software "cellphone spying" with a privilege to keep surveillance on use of cellphone by any individual without his consent or knowledge. "Though police uses this software, and with the use of the this software several cases have been worked out" sources said adding that the as per set rules, a District SSP can use this software, but crossing all limits, a former SSP for reasons best know to him provided that software to two of his loyal officers overlooking the laid down norms. "It has been learnt that both the SHOs are still posted in Jammu city and are using the software at free will. The duo is keeping an unauthorized surveillance on several people in Jammu city and certainly in other areas also. With the help of the software, they can record phone calls of any person without his or her consent and knowledge," they added. |
