11/1/2019 3:29:39 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 31: The bureaucrats of Jammu and Kashmir will have no more undue facilities, privileges which were enjoyed by them in previous governments with the implementation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019 in new Union Territory today.
Sources in the government informed that the bureaucrats as well as the politicians had exploited the privileges to the utmost extent, now with the implementation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019 which has come to effect today (i.e. Oct 31), the all unwarranted facilities will be curtailed by the new dispensation.
"Estate Department used to hire private palatial bungalows for the accommodation of these bureaucrats in the posh localities of both capitals. Chhanni Himat, Sidhara Vihar, Trikuta Nagar etc in Jammu and similarly Nishat Bagh, Shalimar, Chashmeshahi in Srinagar and huge rent which was around one lakh on monthly for one accommodation were paid to the owners putting excessive burden on the State exchequers," they said.
They further added that the luxury of bubus were always taken care by the previous governments, which can be imagined from the fact that they were allotted highly paid accommodations of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Authority in Srinagar. "The rent of these accommodations of TDC is said to be of Rs 3000 per day which reaches to lakhs in a month. But now all these privileges particularly private accommodations will be minimized," they said.
If sources to are to believed, now bubus will be provided only government accommodations and Estate Department has been directed to make arrangements in Gandhi Nagar, Rehari Colony etc. "Despite these riders, if these bubus will continue to occupy private bungalows they will have to pay rent from their own expense, electricity bills, water uses charges etc.," they added.
They further said that similarly the king size position of former Chief Ministers has also been lowered. Their palatial houses, provided by the government will be vacated and four bedroom accommodations will be provided to them.
