Hawala broker-former gunman in touch for new politics in Kashmir! | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31: A former government gunman-turned-politician from north Kashmir is in touch with a businessman-turned-politician as the two look ahead to work jointly to "revive new politics in Kashmir." Sources said the businessman turned politician, who is accused of being a "hawala broker who would fund militants and separatists", has been touch with the politician from Bandipora district. While the Bandipora-politician belongs to a national party, the other one was ousted from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). Sources said the two have been claiming to be in the good books of some senior leaders in the corridors of power in New Delhi. The duo was recently seen holding deliberations with the visiting members of the European Union delegation that visited Kashmir on October 29. It was reliably learnt that the duo recently held meetings in the national capital to decide future of action. Sources said the two are willing to work in coordination with each other to "cultivate a new style of politics." Sources said the duo believes that both of them have been "victims of traditional politics and thus need to work in coordinated manner for a prosperous future and to teach their rivals a lesson." "They are willing to supplement and compliment each other on the political turfs of Kashmir," the sources said. Very recently, at least three close aides of the ousted PDP leader were released from detention thereby raising his morale in the political circles. Interestingly the politician in question was not detained though almost all his colleagues were taken into custody on the abrogation of the special status on August 5. Sources said the politician also enjoys support of a hotelier. "Besides two more businessmen are supporting him(ousted PDP leader)," said a source. Sources said the ousted PDP leader had shared the details of the support he enjoys with the leader from Bandipora. "He (Bandipora) leader has also shared details of support he enjoys in Kashmir and thus the two are willing to work with each other," the sources said. Despite repeated attempts the two couldn't be contacted for comments. |
