IMPA hosts orientation prog for revenue officers

JAMMU, Nov 5: Consequent to reorganisation of the J&K State into Union Territory, a daylong orientation programme was held, the other day at J&K IMPA&RD Campus to acquaint and familiarize the officers with various provisions of Central Registration Act, 1908.
The programme was designed for the Revenue Officers who have been designated as Registrars & Sub-Registrars as per the new law.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal, , Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Inspector General Registrations was the chief guest and Sanjeev Verma, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the guest of honour.
Dr. Pawan Kotwal highlighted the role of these officers in the implementation of Central Registration Act and urged them to adopt citizen centric approach for prompt service delivery to the general public.
The Divisional Commissioner apprised the participants about the new developments that have taken place in the Revenue Department with regard to implementation of Central Registration Act.
Justice B.L. Saraf, Former District and Sessions Judge and Aseem Sawhney, Additional Advocate General, J&K High Court were invited as Resource Persons to deliberate upon the various provisions of the Act and implementation aspects thereof.
Prof. Reva Sharma, Director Trainings, J&K IMPA&RD, Jammu welcomed the chief guest and also highlighted the need for training and capacity building of the officers in enhancing/enriching their knowledge and skills about the Act.
Later, a question - answer and interaction session was held with the participants for clarifying their doubts about the Act. Ms. Kusum Sharma, Principal, Revenue Training Institute, Jammu and Dr. Ruchi Gupta, Assistant Professor, J&K IMPA&RD, Jammu were also present on the occasion.
