State-subject abolished but GMC Jammu still seeks it for jobs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: Though the Union government has already abolished the state-subject for natives after the introduction of Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act-2019 but still the same certificate has been sought by Government Medical College Jammu for jobs. The GMC Jammu has invited applications for two posts under National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) for a period of one year. The posts include one post of Joint Director Incharge State organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) for a period of one year or till the completion of project and one post of Transplant Coordinator (SOTTO). In the beginning paragraph of the advertisement, it has clearly mention that applications are invited from the “Permanent Residents of Jammu and Kashmir”, while asking the candidates to submit the application to Administrative Officer GMC along with self attested documents including “State Subject”, which is mentioned in the 2nd slot. “The State-Subject law was mentioned in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir’s constitution which has already been trashed by the Union. Legally as per the prevailing law of land, the State-subject is not a requirement for any job and it amounts to violation of Indian constitution”, a legal expert said, adding that any candidate challenging the advertisement would easily get the advertisement cancelled. The legal expert said that the department could have called applications from the applicants of J&K, who would have produced a domicile certificate but they have sought erstwhile state-subject, which has been abolished now. |
