GMC Kathua lacks sanitation facilities, patients suffer | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Nov 5: Although Government of India has started Swachh Bharat Abhian in the entire country but the ground realities are very shocking as Government Medical College Kathua has been grappling with insanitation. Vinod Sharma, a social activist, talking with Early Times told that the condition of Government Medical College is very poor and there is no possibility of recovery of the admitted patients even the attendants with the patients are frightened if they may get themselves infected with the bio-medical waste scattered in an open area within the premises of said hospital. On one hand government is claiming that they did their best to uplift the rustic situation of medical facility, on the other hand the sorrowful condition of G.M.C Kathua is astonishing us where the bio-medical waste along with general garbage is gathered in an open place particularly within the premises of hospital so it exhibits a common man that it is a matter of serious anxiety. If we focus our mind on the boastful remark of the government that they have invested an huge amount to develop the infrastructure of G.M.C Kathua, at the same time if we turn our attention toward the ground situation where undeveloped lawns of the hospital are seen and where accommodation to sit in is rather unfortunate , then it appears to us that only we are being deceived to brighten the politics, added he. State Pollution Control Board which is inactive to check this objectionable activity of the administration of G.M.C Kathua is warned that immediate visit may kindly be paid otherwise helpless public is compelled to launch the massive protest added Sharma. |
