Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 10: While as opposition leaders are vacating their official accommodations due to pressure from the authorities, BJP leaders including former ministers and ex-MLAs have been shamelessly occupying government's palatial bungalows causing huge loss to the government's expenditure. Officers are the helm of the affairs are providing all luxuries to these BJP leaders from coffer of the government. Credible sources said that like opposition leaders, all former BJP ministers and ex-MLAs have to vacate official accommodation six months after dissolution of the Legislative Assembly but none of the leader has vacated the bungalows allotted to them during PDP-BJP government. Instead of vacating the illegally bungalows illegally occupied by them these honest BJP leaders, who claimed to the living simple lives, have been , sources said, pressurising the authorities to provide them more and more luxuries so that they can enjoy all luxuries. Most of the former MLAs and ex-ministers of BJP have occupied official bungalows. Even some of the former MLAs of the BJP have occupied bungalows which were usually provided to cabinet ministers. Legislative Assembly of erstwhile State of J&K was dissolved by then Governor Satya Pal Malik on November 21, 2018. After dissolving of the Legislative Assembly, all former MLAs and ex-Ministers had to vacate official accommodations as per rules but honest BJP leaders are still occupying official bungalows.
Credible sources further revealed that some officers at the helm of the affairs were also adopting pick and choose policy in vacating official bungalows. While as authorities pressurising opposition leaders to vacate official accommodations as soon as possible they are only served notices to the BJP leaders just as a formality. Instead of adopting same yardstick for all former MLAs and ministers, authorities are hesitating to even ask BJP leaders to respond to the eviction notices served to them like other former MLAs.
Credible sources further said official accommodations were provided to family members of BJP leaders who are not entitled for the same.
