Udhampur, Dec 3: The Red Ribbon Club of Govt. College for Women Udhampur celebrated International Youth Day 2019, in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Control Society.
On this occasion, a poster making competition on the on the theme "Communities make the Difference" with various subthemes as role of communities in AIDS awareness, AIDS and social stigma, Role of Youth in AIDS control, Causes, control and preventive measures on occasion of World AIDS Day, 2019 was held in the college.
Prof. Subash Chander, Principal of the college was the chief guest while Prof. Kewal Kumar, Prof. Ashni Devi and Dr. YashPaul Singh were the members of the Jury.
Earlier Dr. Kewal Kumar, Nodal Officer, RRC presented welcome address and threw light on importance of celebrating World AIDS Day. Twenty Six students of the college participated in the Poster making competition. On the basis of judgement of jury members, Miss Devanshi Verma (B.Sc. Sem-V), Miss Sonika (B.Sc. Sem-V) and Miss Neha Rani ( B.Sc Sem-III) were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd in competition respectively. An awareness lecture on AIDS was also delivered by Prof. Sumita Rao.
In her lecture she eloborated in detail about the causes of AIDS, preventive measures and the available treatment. |
