Udhampur, Dec 18: Udhampur Police today recovered seven kg of poppy straw at Jakhani Chowk, NHW, Udhampur.
Giving details Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said that a police party of led by Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO Police Station Udhampur under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur while conducting surprise checking of vehicles on NHW at Jakhani Chowk, Udhampur.
During Naka checking police party intercepted one Innova bearing registration no. DL 3CE 1333 for checking. During a thorough search of said vehicle, seven kg of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of one narcotic smuggler namely Shaheen Ahmed Bhat resident of Pulwama arrested and poppy straw seized. In this connection, A Case FIR No. 587/19 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case are going on. |
