Jammu, Dec 18: Traffic Police reportedly seized a vehicle without any valid reason in a fit of anger at Canal Road today, due to which traffic movement remained interrupted for half an hour. The behaviour of the Traffic Police particularly the concerned officer, who didn't listen to the victim, was widely condemned by the witnesses, who ordered seizure of the vehicle. The incident took place today at Canal Road which was witnessed by the Early Time correspondent, when a vehicle (Safari) stopped on road side at Canal Road. A woman came out of the car, who was accompanied with her husband, who was driving it, went to a medical shop for purchasing medicines. Immediately concerned DTI reached on the spot and started argue with the vehicle owner, who although cleared his position that her wife has gone to purchase some medicines but the officer didn't listen to him and ordered seizure of the vehicle . The victim alleged that the concerned DTI didn't listen to him and even she didn't challan me for violating any traffic rules but directly ordered the seizure of vehicle. The harsh move taken by the traffic police led to brief traffic movement interruption resulting concerned police officer reached, who defused the volatile situation and got resumed the traffic movement. When ET reporter, contacted the concerned DTI about her comment, she said that there was a VIP movement that is why the vehicle was seized. |
