Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 18: In response to the public representation demanding the replacement of old wooden bridge over Hori Nallah stream in Dachhan area of Kishtwar District, the forest department despite directions from Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has failed to replace the said bridge even after the lapse of seven months as a result of which the people of twin Panchayats of Sounder A and Sounder B are continuously facing lot of inconvenience to cross over the decaying wooden bridge. The people of Dachhan in the month of May 2019 approach the office of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with request for construction of fresh wooden bridge over the Nallah since the bridge has completely rotten badly and can invite mishap in case the preventive measures are not taken immediately and requested DC Kishtwar to either construct the concrete bridge over the Nallah or replace the wooden bridge with another wooden bridge through forest department. The people informed DC Kishtwar that this wooden bridge crossing is an important connectivity for the two Panchayats of Sounder area, but also important to reach nearby hiydal mills. Following written representation by the people, DC Kishtwar directed DFO Forest Division Marwah to take appropriate and necessary action for construction of the wooden bridge as was requested by the people, but despite lapse of seven months the people of Sounder area are running from office to office of Forest Division Marwah, but nothing was done till date. The people while talking to Early Times urged upon the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to get the bridge constructed without any further delay so that the people get hassle free crossing without putting their lives and livestock at risk. |
