BJP has not learnt any lessons from past mistakes
Ram Madhav remembers his friend Sajjad Lone

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 18: The ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) seems to have not learnt any lessons from the mistakes it committed in the past in Kashmir.
Recently, BJP National General Secretary and party's point man on Kashmir Ram Madhav while referring to the detained Kashmir-centric leaders said that their friend Sajjad Lone too has been under detention since August 5 and the political leaders who agree to talk will be released soon.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It is for the first time since August 5 this year that any BJP leader has spoken about the Chairman of People's Conference Sajjad Lone, who had one point of time was projected to be the Chief Minister of J&K, by the saffron party." He said that when PDP-NC and Congress tried to form a grand alliance in J&K in 2018, Sajjad Lone had sent a letter to then Governor of J&K, Satya Pal Malik to stake the claim for government formation and had said that he enjoys the support of all 25 BJP MLAs. "But his dream to rule the erstwhile state of J&K was shattered soon after the then Governor Malik dissolved the Legislative Assembly. Since the day Sajjad Lone and his party has become a history," the analyst added.
An observer said that Madhav talking about Lone after such a long time is a hint that BJP has not forgotten him and he could be their potential ally in the newly carved Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The observer said that BJP should learn from the mistakes which it had committed in the past. "It should stop harping about Kashmir and Kashmir only. The saffron party needs to realize that it was able to share the power with People's Democratic Party due to Jammu, where the party won 25 Assembly seats out of 37 in 2014 elections. Sajjad Lone's party could manage to win only 2 Assembly seats in Kashmir. Despite Lone having no footing, the BJP leaders in J&K rallied around him and projected him as the J&K Chief Minister," he added.
Another analyst said, "After J&K's reorganization and Delimitation being on cards people of Jammu are hoping that they won't be disappointed and they would see someone from their region holding the Chief Minister's office after a long wait of 70 years."
He said, "Ram Madhav needs to change his thinking and strategy to keep the chances of his party alive in the elections which would be held in the J&K UT after the Delimitation."
