| Tawi Trekkers to organize series of short treks | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 18: Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier trekking organisation of J&K in co-operation with Surinsar-Mansar development authority, is organising a series of short treks (adventure picnic) in Surinsar-Mansar-Mahore Garh area.
To begin with a group of trekkers comprising 135 students of R.M Public School, Chowadhi participated in the program. President of Tawi Trekkers alongwith trained mountaineers Sonam, Manik, Sourav and Himani Choudhary.
Eleven teachers of R.M Public School also accompanied the group. During the long day venture the young adventures in the age group of 11 to 15 years first visited the beautiful lake where they were taught about the origin of lake via the origin of the Himalaya.
They were happy to learn that Mansar Lake has the unique destination of having a particular species of turtles which is found only in this lake on this planet. |
