Kathua, Dec 18: The newly elected body of Kathua Press Club today made a visit to the office of Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat and submitted a charter of demands before him. The group of scribes was led by the President, Kathua Press Club, Sanjay Pathak, Chairman, Manuj Kesar, Gen. Secy., Harpreet Sethi, Vice Chairman, Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Mohan Sharma and Cashier, Prabh Dayal. They discussed several welfare measures for working journalists of the district to which the DC assured them of every help from the District Administration`s side. The elected members in their charter listed several demands, but they mainly stressed on demarcation and transfer of allotted land to the Press Club. They also demanded a temporary office building for the Press Club till permanent arrangements were made besides they also requested to get the DPR of the Press Club building be prepared by the R & B department. The DC after listening to their demands patiently reassured them that their concerns will be looked after and timely action will be taken on their demands. |
