Kathua, Dec 20: In continuation to drive launched against the bovine smuggling, today on 19.12.2019 at about 0400 hours, a team of PP Industrial Estates, Kathua led by SI Vishal I/C PP under the supervision K.D.Bhagat , Dy.SP DAR Kathua during patrolling and checking duty intercepted one Truck bearing registration no. JK02BJ-3785 plying from Punjab towards Jammu via Hatli. On questioning, driver of vehicle disclosed his name as Jaspreet Singh S/o Surjeet Singh R/o Luwann Garh Tehsil Samroli, Ludhiana, Punjab. During checking of Truck, 15 No. of bovine animal's i.e 01 Cow, 14 Oxen were found loaded in it mercilessly which were being smuggled from Punjab towards Jammu in violation to the restriction imposed by the District Magistrate, Kathua on the transportation of such animals without prior permission. Driver of the truck was arrested on spot by the Police team. A case FIR No. 378/2019 U/S 279/353/188 IPC, 3/5 PCA Act IPC stands registered at PS Kathua. Further investigation is going on. |
