Drug mafia introduces Rohingaya couples into narcotic smuggling to dodge cops | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 20: Arrest of a Rohangiya woman, whose husband was already nabbed by the police in supplying drugs to the youth of Jammu has established the fact that to thwart aggressive campaign launched by cops, the drug mafia in J&K has devised new strategy by inducting foreigner couples to supply narcotics in different parts of the region. This new strategy of drug mafia has forced cops to re-devise their approach to snap supply line. Although women have been indulged in this menace since long, first time a couple was arrested in the month of March this year from the outskirt of Jammu city. Public Safety Act (PSA) was slapped against the arrested woman because she had involved her husband in the "business" to dodge cops. Now a Rohangiya couple has been arrested by the cops and this arrested has exposed how dangerous is the network of drug mafia. Earlier a woman, hails from Rajasthan and living in Jammu for the past several years held under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for many times. Interestingly most of the women arrested with husbands were 'outsiders' living in the outskirts of Jammu. Two week ago, a woman hailing from Chhattisgarh, was arrested by Kanachak police with 1.5 kilogram ganja from her possession. Majority of the couple drug paddlers arrested recently are themselves addict and are appeared to be introduced into this business by the drug mafia taking advantage of their helplessness. These couples are engaged to supply narcotics within J&K. |
