Jharkhand sounds bugle for political change: Bhardwaj | | | Early Times Report
BISHNAH, Dec 25: Senior Congress leader, Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that Jharkhand Assembly election results altogether rejecting BJP is going to be a turning point in the history of Independent India and lauded the people of the tribal state for showing a direction to rest of the country in how to counter and reject the anti-people and repressive policies of the BJP Government at the Centre. Addressing people in victory rally held in the border town of Bishnah today, Bhardwaj said that the Congress-JMM-RJD alliance's emphatic victory in the state is a clear indicator that a wind of change has started sweeping the country. The clear victory which has come after four successive drubbings to BJP in Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, confirms beyond any doubt that policies of the current ruling dispensation are anti-poor and against the interests of the farmers, labourers, middle class and even the business and trade. "How come that a state which is predominantly inhabited by tribals, scheduled castes, minority and landless labourers has sounded a bugle for a political change in the process defeating even the sitting chief minister. Senior Congress leader, Mohinder Bhardwaj has expressed anguish on the crop damage due to sudden and unseasonal rains across this agriculture belt leaving farmers in utter distress. Bhardwaj expressed further anguish that all this while the farmers were facing the fury of weather resulting in withering of their crops the earlier the state government and now the Union Territory administration have not bothered to reach out to them. He appealed to the Central Government as well as the state administration to announce immediate interim relief to these farmers particularly in Bishnah and other areas. |
