'Violation of Rehabilitation policy continuous' | Fishermen community selling plots allotted to them by Govt at Rajouri | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 24: The Fishermen community of Rajouri has been selling plots, which were allotted to them by the government for their rehabilitation, in violation of the norms. Sources told Early Times that there is fishermen community which reside in village Dhanore Jaralla, of Rajouri district, were given plots for the rehabilitation by carving out a colony nearly 18 years ago, where many of them constructed their houses but the after a span of time, many plots are being sold by them just for monetary benefits. "The plots which were given to them under a Government policy are being sold in sheer violation of rehabilitation policy and the concerned Fishery Department has been overlooking this violation," they alleged further adding the department itself is involved in this activity. When ET Correspondent contacted Assistant Director Fisheries Department Rajouri Bashir Chouhan said that there is no violation in selling plots. "They can do it as our job was only to provide them plots," he said further adding the concerned official is out of station and will see the matter once he returns. |
