Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 29: Former Minister and President District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted a 3-day long tour of constituency and took stock of development needs and public issues of different areas of Billawar constituency. Dr Sharma during his whirlwind tour visited several villages including Dharamkote, Garh Malti, Tilla, Billawar, Barota, Thantu, Kishanpur, Dungara, Seswan, Chan Rorian and participated in various social, religious functions and also interacted with local people, senior citizens, youths, panchs and sarpanchs of the constituency. During interactions, people apprised Sharma about the problems faced by them on day to day basis such as scarcity of drinking water, electricity, bad conditions of roads, shortage of ration especially sugar, discrimination in allotments of funds in various schemes such as MNREGA, widow /old age pension and many more. People also alleged that from past more than a year payments has not been made against the work executed under MNREGA Dr Sharma criticized the misgovernance of BJP government due to which common masses are facing and feeling deceived. He said PM does a lot of Mann Ki Baat and today also he didn't uttered any word about burning issues such as unemployment, price rise, downgrading economy and farmer issues. He requested Honorable Governor to fill the vacant vacancies lying in various departments on priority basis to cater the rising problem of unemployment. Dr Sharma further request Lt Governor to look into matter of regularization of teachers and daily wagers in different departments which is a long pending demand and make sure they get their pending wages released at the earliest. Dr Sharma also paid heart full homage to Shaheed Sham Singh son of Puran Singh of Dhod of Forest Department who sacrificed his life while fighting with smugglers on December 26, 1996 while on line of duty. |
