Border area residents claim scam in funds under BADP | | | ANKIT KESSAR Early Times Report NOSHWERA, Dec 29: Several residents of border area has claimed discrepancies in the use of funs under Border Area Development Programme (BADP). The Sarpanch of the Deeing-Kalal area in Nowshera Sector, Ramesh Choudhary claimed that the zero line border area of their panchayat has not got any help under BADP for the last so many years. He highlighted that he visited the office of the Deputy Commissioner's office Rajouri on several occasions in the last five years but got nothing except utter disappointment. Choudhary suspect that there is a great possibility of a scam under BADP initiated by the Government of India. When contacted Chief Planning Officer Rajouri Shamma-un-Ahmed stressed that there is a proper guideline for distributing the funds under BADP. There is a criteria to start from the zero level saturation and if in past the rules have been ignored due to political pressure or due to the own interest of the chair, this is violation set under the guidelines of BADP. CPO also claimed that earlier local legislators and powerful officers on the chair might have diverted the funds under BADP. |
