Former Minister demands for strengthen Aromatic Plants | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh and National President Aromatic and Medicinal Plants Growers association of India (APGAI) demanded to strengthen the Aromatic Plants Which was ignored by the previous government. He said that resources available in the form of Aromatic plants if properly explored in the UT of J&K and Ladakh commercially can generate job opportunities for young uneducated unemployed technically qualified youth as in the international market the aromatherapy is the latest technique being followed by the global community to get rid of human ailments and under such circumstances state of J&K being enriched with herbal wealth can exploit this wealth and help the state exchequer . He said Aroma plants like clarysage, Tulsi, Rose, geranium and other hundreds aroma species which is prevalent in J&K for which baseline survey has already been conducted by the APGAI and APGAI is also willing to provide the technical help to the state of J&K if invited to do so for the welfare of the state. he also said that the International ban imposed by UN in 1921 in Geneva on endangered species like Kuth, Artemesia and so many other endangered species where the govt of India and state has failed to lift the ban by proposing a suitable proposal which is invited by the international union on the other hand countries like China and Thailand have been successful to get removed International ban and have caputured the world market . He appealed to the present Governor to conduct enquiry against him who did nothing in this sector and never cooperated with us and also the most important old system of ISM should be retrieved . |
