Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 7: Rebuking Rural Development Department (RDD) Rajouri claim of making district Open-Defecation free, the beneficiaries in 'papers' exposed ground realty, as over 40 percent people san toilets due to deep rooted corruption in the department. Sources told Early Times the department has embezzled huge fund by coercing gullible people. "The officials have been taking Rs 6000, in lieu of releasing funds into the bank account of the beneficiary i.e. Rs 12000 into their bank account," they alleged, adding that there were many instances, where toilets don't exist but the payments have been released to the beneficiaries by taking bribe. They further informed that still over 40 percent of people go into open to attend nature's call, which defeat the claim of making district open defecation area. "At many places, a temporary toilet was shown in picture to claim fund," they alleged further adding that all rules were overlooked by the RDD to embezzle fund. When contacted the RDD Official, he feigned ignorance of the issue When contacted the BDO Kotranka, Salam Din in this connection, he said that action will taken against erring officials if something found involved in above said case. |
