Action against separatists pinches Yashwant Sinha
1/7/2020 10:35:39 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 7: Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, who has been sidelined by the Bharatiya Janata Party, leaves no opportunity to pinch the party with which it remained associated for nearly two decades.
His recent remark that the BJP led Central Government has created Kashmir like situation across the country has once again proved that he wants to somehow keep on sending a message that "All is not Well" in the Valley.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Sinha wants to remain in news and seems least bothered about the consequences which his statements could have. He (Sinha) has even accused the government of following the policy of suppression in Kashmir. Such statements are unacceptable."
He said, "The GoI has broken the back of anti-national elements and separatists in Kashmir. These people were acting as the stooges of the Pakistan during the past three decades and were preaching sedition. Many people in the country believe that the GoI by cracking a whip against them has done a good job which earlier regimes failed to do."
An observer said, "Sinha after quitting the BJP turned into rebel. One can understand that he has personal differences with the party leadership but that doesn't mean that he will talk about the issues of national security with impunity. He (Sinha) needs to realize that our country is dealing with a rogue neigbour (Pakistan) whose only job during the past three decades has been to foment trouble in Jammu and Kashmir."
He said that Sinha has said that the Government doesn't want to talk to the so-called leaders in Kashmir. "Someone needs to ask Sinha, whom should the government talk to? The ones who advocate Kashmir's merger with Pakistan? Or the gun wielding terrorists who are spreading hate and terror in the Valley," the observer added.
Referring to Sinha's Kashmir visit some time back and his subsequent claim that he was confined to hotel room, the observer said, "Sinha during his Kashmir visit wanted to go to those areas which were not safe and the security clearance could not have been granted."
He said that people like Sinha should refrain from linking situation in other parts of the country with Kashmir. "Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the situation in Kashmir are two different issues. It's after thirty years that concrete steps have been taken to set right the hate preachers in Kashmir. And no nationalist person should object to it."
