JTC/SKF expresses concern over stoppage of sugar supply to relief holders | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 8: Stoppage of sugar supplies to the Relief holders has added to the sufferings of relief holders, said Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K. Addressing a press conference here today, Shadi Lal Pandita, President, JTC/SKF (J&K) said that with no sugar supplies for the past some time, the Relief holders are facing lots of problems. Pandita has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor J&K to personally look into the matter as to why sugar supplies have been stopped to Migrant Relief holders and ensure early release of the same with arrears. He further said that though the Government of India had time and again assured for safe return and permanent rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant community in Kashmir valley but nothing in this direction has been done till date. Pandita said that Kashmiri Pandit migrants are unable to return to their native localities as their properties have wither been encroached upon or damaged with demolishing/setting ablaze their residential houses. Pandita has demanded raising of 3 satellite townships for Kashmiri Pandit Migrant families for their safe return and their permanent rehabilitation in Kashmir valley. He also demanded to extend all constitutional rights to Kashmiri Pandit community by giving due representation in the State Legislature as well as in the Parliament. Pandita demanded enhancement of monthly cash relief from Rs 13,000 Rs 25,000 per family per month, on spot recruitment drive in police department in migrant camps, creation of 3000 Class IV Posts and new special employment package besides raising other demands. |
