Doctor on leave, ENT OPD of DH non-functional for last 2 days | | | Ashwani sharma Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Jan 11: Internal tussle among those at the helm of affairs in the District Hospital Udhampur is augmenting public woes as Out Patient Department (OPD) services of ENT which is totally non-functional for the last two days since the concerned doctor is on leave. Insiders informed that the ENT specialist is on leave for some days but there is one more ENT specialist on the post of medical officer in the hospital who is not being asked to conduct the regular OPD even other doctors of other departments like gynecologist, surgery and ortho who are posted as medical officers are conducting regular OPDs and operation theatres but why hospital authorities ignored ENT medical officer is a mystery? "There is a nexus in the hospital. Prescribing medicines from certain selected outlets for hefty commissions share of which percolates to the upper most chair in the institution," said Congress leader Sumeet Magotra He further said that only medicos who prescribe such medicines are facilitated to conduct OPD while others are ignored no matter how much public sufferings increase. Locals have expressed grave concern over the non-functional ENT OPD in the hospital. "I came from remote hamlet of Basantgarh but to my dismay there is no doctor available to check me as I have severe pain in my ears," Darshan Lal, a poor farmer told this reporter. There are more such pathetic tales in the hospital among visitors especially those having ailments related to ENT. |
