ReT Forum to protest against IGNOU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 11: Rehbar-e-Talim Forum has decided to protest against IGNOU authorities for alleged harassment of teachers. In a press statement issued jointly by UT President Vinod Sharma and UT Chief Coordinator Sukhdev Singh Sumbria it has been stated that due to the lethargic attitude of the IGNOU authorities of J & K UT, thousands of teachers who are persuing their B.Ed. are suffering badly. They alleged that due to mismanagement of IGNOU authorities Examination Centres were fixed only at District Headquarters and the teachers from the far flung areas had to travel long distance to reach the centres and even they had to hire rooms to stay. They also alleged that in District Reasi no centre was established and teachers had to travel hundreds of kilometres to reach Jammu. Last year too teachers from other districts were harassed by establishing their centres at Mahore. More astonishing is the fact that IGNOU Jammu has ignored all rules of the university as this year Date sheet of B.Ed was uploaded 3 days before the examination and Hall tickets were uploaded just two days prior to the examination which shows the harassing attitude of the IGNOU authorities. They further blamed that due to the harassing attitude of the Jammu IGNOU two papers have been cancelled and thousands of teachers are made to suffer and said that ReT Forum will not tolerate such harassment and soon come on road. They appealed the Home Minister, HRD Minister and Lieutenant Governor to personally intervene in this matter and shift all the staff from Regional Center Jammu to outside the UT who made thousands of teachers to suffer. |
