| J&K Bank's only CDM in Udhampur remains dysfunctional, customers suffer | | |  ASHWANI SHARMA

UDHAMPUR, Jan 12: The only Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) of J&K Bank here remains dysfunctional for most of the time thereby aggravating the sufferings of those who want to deposit money.
"I have to deposit some money at odd hours in the account of my son who is doing MSc Computer Sciences in Punjab and as the internet is not functional in J&K I wished to use the services of CDM but to my dismay it was not functional," rued Ramesh Kumar-a local businessman.
Similar are the woes of many other customers in the town.
Sources informed that the machine is outdated and not good enough for smooth functioning adding that every next day some repair goes on correcting the technical snag that develops in the machine but to no avail.
"Regular repairs are only wastage of money and time.
Installation of a new machine is the only way out," they said.
Locals have appealed to the higher authorities of J&K Bank to install some alternate CDM in the town as if one develops some technical snag other remains functional and the services meant for the public may continue without any harassment. |
