Kathua, Jan 15: District Development Commissioner Kathua, O P Bhagat, Wednesday chaired a meeting here to finalize arrangements for the conduct of various awareness activities to observe National Voters’ Day on January 25, 2020. The DDC said a slew of programmes in government departments, offices of EROs/AEROs, as well as academic and other professional institutions of the district shall be held to create voter awareness.
He also informed that the main district level function shall be held at Government Degree College for Women.
The DDC said that the main purpose of the NVD celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximize the enrollment, especially for the new voters.
He asked the Principals of the Degree Colleges to conduct debate and symposiums on “Role of Youth in Strengthening of Democracy and Value of Vote” in their respective institutions.
ADC Kathua Atul Gupta, ASP Ramnish Gupta, ACR Devinder Paul, Deputy DEO Ashwani Kumar, CEO T.R Mangotra and Principals of the Degree Colleges attended the meeting.
