JKSAC delegation calls on LG, discuses reservation policy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: A six members delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) called on Girish chander Murmu Lt. Governor of Union Territory of J&K and discussed reservation policy. Delegation was comprised of Dev Saroop, Tarlok Singh Tara, Bhushan Sharma, Dawarka Nath and Roshan Lal , heads of districts units led by Gurdev Singh President LG was urged upon to review the reservation policy of the govt. which is totally biased and discriminatory in respect of wards of DP’s of 1947 from POJK. He was requested to make reduction in Pahari / EWS quota to provide atleast 3% reservation to wards of DP’s as they also belong /reside in hilly / backward areas, speak Pahari language and are educationally, economically weak& backward and are struggling for the same from the last more than six decades. Gurdev Singh apprised Murmu, in detail about the various issues of DP’s of 1947 from POJK concerning their full and final settlement. He told him that DP’s of 1947 from POJK have not left their homes like Kashmiri migrants nearly because of fear and having certain adverse conditions but they were thrown out forcibly from their native areas at mid night by the Pakistani Tribal’s abetted by Pakistan regular army. He was told that more than 40,000 peoples of all ages were brutally slaughtered. Women irrespective of their age were abducted, raped and ravished, beside their properties of millions of rupees were looted and destroyed. |
