Kashmir netas continue silence as another civilian killed in Pakistani aggression | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Feb 5: With no let up in Pakistani aggression on the Indian soil, in the latest a civilian was killed in Karnah area of the valley, but the Kashmiri politicians continue to be silent. As per reports, Muhammad Saleem was killed and another civilian was seriously injured when Pakistani forces opened shelling in Tad sector of Karnah in north Kashmir on February 2. The incident triggered anti-Pakistan resentment in the area. But the Kashmiri politicians who usually leave no stone unturned to “demonize New Delhi” have been silent on the issue. Those, who kept mum includes the National Conference leader and Member Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone representing north Kashmir constituency. Political pundits said the MPs from Kashmir “exercising special clauses” should have sought for resolution against the Pakistani aggression. But from the Parliament where the budget session is underway to Jammu and Kashmir, the politicians kept mum. The other politicians are also silent on the issue are from Congress, Peoples Democratic Party or other parties, who otherwise regularly issue statements. The residents of Karnah said the silence of Kashmiri politicians on Pakistani hostilities and sponsored terror have been the main cause of deteriorating situation on the frontiers. Around half a dozen civilians, mainly those from Jammu region have lost their lives in the last few months alone due to Pakistan aggression on the frontiers. Unfortunately the politicians avoid speaking against Pakistan for reasons best known to them. It is pertinent to mention that since the abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani forces have intensified their aggression through shelling and Jammu has been their main target. While the Indian Army and paramilitary forces are giving a befitting reply to the enemy, what has been missing is the much needed reaction of the politicians. Despite repeated attempts, MP Akbar Lone and netas from other parties were no available for comments. |
