Randhir Singh discuses issues of Aromatic plants growers | | | Early times Report
Jammu, Feb 5: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Former minister Thakur Randhir Singh and National President Aromatic and Medicinal Plants Growers association of India (APGAI)which is registered under society act Regd No DR/GGN/112(HR) approved by Ministry of Agriculture Govt of India to discuss the issues regarding the scope of Aromatic plants in Jammu , Kashmir and Ladakh.Thakur Randhir Singh said in this connection he has written to the Prime minister Narendra Modi in which he got the reply from PMO that National Horticulture Board is considering integrated commercial horticulture development project in open Field conditions on project mode, including component viz planting material, plantation,irrigation , fertigation , mechanization, precision farming , Gap etc for projects covering area over 2.00 hectare in credit linked back ended subsidt at 40% of the total project cost limited to Rs 30.00 Lakh per project in general areas and @ 50% of project cost limited to Rs 37.50 Lakh in Hilly states .Mr Singh has also written to Lt Governor G C Murmu that in past the previous govts totally neglected this sector and demanded enquiry against the Director ISM Dr Kabir Dar who never cooperated with the central team . Mr Singh said that resources available in the form of Aromatic plants if properly explored in the UT of J&K commercially can generate job opportunities for young uneducated unemployed technically qualified youth as in the international market the aromatherapy is the latest technique being followed by the global community to get rid of human ailments and under such circumstances state of J&K being enriched with herbal wealth can exploit this wealth and help the state exchequer . |
