Samba, Feb 5: Angered over uninterrupted mining in Devika river, a delegation of village Gudha Salathia went to the office of District Development Commissioner and met ADC Samba Vikas Gupta.
The villagers also staged a sit-in in front of the District Development Office, and protested against the mining.
On this occasion, Pankaj Salathia, Mohan Singh Salathia, Jatinder Singh, Bhushan Singh, Shivpal Singh, Inderjit Singh, Krishna Singh, KD Singh etc. told ADC Vikas Gupta that Devika river is sacred for all and holds special reverence for them and they would not allow mining in the river.
They also submitted a memorandum in the name of Lt. Governor Girish Chandar Murmu to ADC Vikas Gupta.
