Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 6: Principals of the Government Medical Colleges across Jammu and Kashmir are yet to file remarks over ban on the private practices of the Government's doctors to the Health and Medical Education Department as well as the Secretariat of Lieutenant Governor.
Taking strong note against the various complaints received by the office of the Lieutenant Governor, the Health and Medical Education was asked to look into the matter. Following the directions from the LG's office, the officials of the Health Ministry, on January 22, 2020, asked all Principals of the Government Medical Colleges to furnish the comments/ view over the ban on private practices of the doctors.
"Two weeks have passed but the comment and view have not been submitted by the concerned authority due to allegedly nexus with the doctors, "sources in H&ME Department told Early Times, adding that the subject cited above has been gathering dust from one tablet to another for the last many years but no efforts were made to stop the illegal private practices.
Since then the letter was received by the Head of the institutes, they are appearing as they are escaping from their liabilities by saying that there is confusion over the communication as they do not know which types of comments were sought from them.
Taking jibe over the confusion, sources emphasized that it has clearly mentioned in the official communication that submit view over ban on the private practices and which types of clearance they (some of the heads) are seeking from the government to comment on the subject. Sources alleged that it is time buy tactic to delay in submitting a reply to the concerned authority so they can forget the ongoing subject.
Here need to mention that the private practices of the government doctors of the Jammu and Kashmir has become talk of the town for degrading the health care of Jammu.
