DDC reviews implementation of KCC schemes in district

RAMBAN, Feb 6: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan today chaired a Special District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to ensure 100% coverage of farmers of district under prestigious Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme.
The meeting was attended Manager RBI, Lead District Manager, Shakeel Ahmed Bhat, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Agriculture, Alyas Akhter Gattu, Bankers and others officers of line department.
DDC expressed his displeasure over the slow rate of issuance of KCC to farmers and directed the bankers to issue Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to eligible ones within prescribed time of the submission of completed application.
"There are still a large number of farmers who do not have access to institutional credit either because they have not been issued a KCC. The government had therefore decided to launch a campaign to saturate farmers for financial inclusion under KCC,” DDC added.
DDC said that to achieve the targets set by the government of doubling of farmers’ income; KCC would be playing a vital role for achieving the targets for the same.
During the meeting, Agriculture officer apprised the DC about the status of KCC cases with the agriculture department and on the bank level.
DDC directed Agriculture department and Banks to achieve the targets with close coordination. He asked them to revisit their figures and immediately submit the pending KCC cases to concerned banks to enable the farmers to avail the benefits of the schemes.
Meantime the bankers were instructed to adhere to the guidelines to ensure implementation of prestigious scheme in letter and spirit across the district.
