PHE employees to suspend work for 24 hrs in support of demands

Jammu, Feb 6: More than 30,000 of PHE employees of Jammu Region will suspend work for 24 hours from tomorrow. The announcement in this regard was made by senior leaders of the PHE Employees United Front while interacting with news reporters here today at PHE Complex, BC Road, Jammu.
They further expressed that 15 days ultimatum regarding solution of the long pending demands of daily wagers and permanent employees was served to the Chief Secretary of the Jammu Kashmir Union Territory, but the Govt did not care for that and has done nothing to address the all genuine and principally agreed demands of the Daily Rated workers who have been serving to the department for more than 25 years continuously. They further said that the date of ultimatum finished today and now no option has been left for our employees except to go on KAM CHHOR HARTAL from tomorrow evening and the present Govt, will be held responsible for all the consequences and particularly for the inconvenience of the general public due to unwanted KAM CHHOR HARTAL. It is recalled that the daily wagers have been demanding their regularization as per SRO-64, month-wise wages for all workers, release of pending earned wages, the minimum wages as per central Govt, minimum wages Act be given to the PHE Daily Wagers besides other demands.
Those who addressed the employees at PHE Complex included Bakshi Singh, Subash Verma, Balbadar Raj, Tanveer Hussain, Kartar Chand, Davinder Singh, Meetul Sharma, Deepak Gupta, Bhanu Partap Singh, Hoshiar Singh and Binkal Singh.
