| Residents of village Nahoti demand action against illegal excavation from Tawi | | |

Rajouri, Feb 7: The residents of village Nahoti of tehsil Sunderbani of district Rajouri expressed anguish against illegal excavation of minor mineral from the local Tawi Khameri. Tawi Khamberi situated in panchayat of Nallah Makol, which is 15 kms from Sunderbani near GMS Nahoti. PMGSY road work is being executed in village but tractors, tippers from outside have been taking mineral from Tawi despite ban by HC and selling them in other areas due to which Tawi got emptied. They said the minor mineral of Tawi should be used for village only. District Mineral Officer Rajouri Rajeshwar Singh said that he would take action after two -three days. Meanwhile, JE PMGSY said he can’t stop excavation, only local public can stop it. They appealed to LG for intervening into this issue and demanded action against erring officials. |
